James Redmond Bio
James Redmond was born and raised in New Jersey. He has been a horror fan since the mid to late 80's when he had seen Friday the 13th , Dawn of the Dead and Pet Sematary. His favorite authors include Edgar Allan Poe, Stephen King, and H.P. Lovecraft, just to name a few. He also enjoys reading books on true crime.
Two years after graduating high school, James enlisted in the U.S. Navy on October 31, 2000. James served in the helicopter squadron HS-15 Red Lions that was part of a carrier air wing attached to the USS George Washington (2002) and the USS John F. Kennedy (2004). James first set foot on a ship, the USS George Washington, September 12, 2001. James was aboard the USS George Washington as it patrolled the waters outside of New York City, guarding the airspace after the infamous attack on September 11th.
In August of 2005, James migrated to Texas one year after being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy. He has been a musician (playing bass and guitar) since the age of thirteen. Music was his main area of study while attending community college. In January 2011, James transferred to Texas Christian University where he shifted his focus from music to English Lit. In May 2017, James graduated from TCU with a degree in English Literature and minor in music. He is employed at a job that he has had for several years and works on story ideas he conjured up while attending TCU.
His first book Hell's Maelström is a book dealing with the dead coming back to life with an extra element or horror added to the mix, and will available in the spring of 2020. Though, James has enjoyed the zombie genre since he was a teen in the early 90's, his horror stories will not limited exclusively to the zombie genre.
